Temple Renovation

Mahadev,

One of the many aspects of our glorious Hindu culture is the divine manifestations of its Deities and all powerful pathways to salvation.

Servants of Shankara’s headquarter is the  Shree Jagadguru Sanyas Ashram’ which was erstwhile known as ‘Kerala Ashram’. For more than 8 decades, closer to a century, The Ashram precinct / bhoomi has served as a shelter for innumerable monks/ bhikshu/ sadhakas, having strong and intense inner seeking for self-knowledge/ spiritual knowledge. Their life, dedicated wholly towards pursuing the ideals of Sanyasa has been witnessed by Bhagwan Dhaveleshwar Mahadev – Lord Shiva himself, the principal Deity presiding over this Ashram.

Mahalaxmi PurnagiriDevi is the ‘Shakti’, recognized by Bhagwan Shankracharya, for the monks and grihastha belonging to the ‘Giri’ order of the Jyotirmath.

MM Swami Abhishek Chaitanya, inspired by this belief, installed Mahalaxmi Purnagiri as the ‘ Shakti’ aspect of the Ashram to bestow her grace on all who visit the Ashram, seeking self-knowledge and success in their spiritual endeavor.

In view of this, the sanctum of the temple needs to undergo an extensive renovation on an urgent basis. The rituals involved in reinstalling the Deities in their new forms and in their respective abodes must be completed in the ‘Uttarayan’ period of the year, which it is presently. The plan of installation is as follows:

• The Shiva Parivar around Bhagwan Shiva, including the yoni Peeth of Shivalinga would be reinstalled in granite.
• The Vimana behind Lord Shiva will have the abodes of Purnagiri Devi, Badri Narayan, and UmaMaheshwar. These would be in metal.
• The outer walls would hold in the granite stone, the guarding Deities as Hanumanji and Bhairava.
• Nandi, the mount/ Vahana of Lord Shiva would be placed in a waiting pose in the outer square of the temple.

All the devotees are welcome to participate and contribute wholeheartedly to the reinstallation of the Deities in the temple.

The contributions required are as follows:

1. Shivalinga – 1 lac
2. Shiv Parivar’s three panels – 50,000 each
3. Hanumanji – 50,000
4. Bhairava – 50,000
5. Nandi – 60,000
6. Flooring and granite walls – 3 lacs
